Community Garden Cafe and Sales

We are going to sell our organic garden produce, along with other local producers, at a monthly coffee morning from 10am - 1pm every 3rd Thursday of the month, opening 16th September 2010, in Campbeltown's Guide Hall. The 3rd thursday of the month was chosen as it is midway between our local Farmer's Market dates (1st Saturday of the month) where we also sell our produce. CCOG has again worked with South Kintyre Development Trust, Argyll Voluntary Action and Kintyre Recycling to put on a monthly coffee morning in Campbeltown's Guide Hall (between Tesco and Co-op). We will be sellng our local organic food along with local groups/individuals selling their produce and goods. There will be tea, coffee, soup and scones etc. for sale at our cafe, ran by Clare and Pat from Argyll Volutary Action. The funds raised will be used to help maintain and develop CCOG. It will go toward e.g. buying seeds for next year's harvest, insurances, ongoing repairs and building maintainance etc. Please drop in for a cuppa, chat and look around on the first coffee morning which is the thursday, 16th September at 10am to 1pm, mark each 3rd thursday of the month in your diary. If you are local, produce your own items and would like to sell these please drop into the Volunteer Centre for more information.

A Big Thank you for Ailsa’s Mealtime Fundraiser

Ailsa Clark organised and laid on an all day mealtime fundraiser for the joint benefit of CCOG and Nepalese Children by feeding the RJ McLeod's construction worker's all day. Ailsa raised £160 for CCOG and Nepalese Children through the sweat of her brow and getting her friends and colleagues to provide soup, bacon sandwiches etc. along with donated raffle prizes e.g. Springbank Whisky. Ailsa worked all day, loading up her car and taking the hot food around the construction site where the workers 'gobbled up' all her wares and raffle tickets. Ailsa praised the workers for their enthusiastic support for her fundraising aims and RJ McLeod who allowed her to sell her wares on site. (I would also like to mention the large portacabin RJ McLeod donated, transported and placed in our market garden development for use as an office and visitors centre) Thank you Ailsa, not only for your generous fundraising but also for ongoing support for CCOG we really appreciate your hands on help and advice.
